Rustic Handcrafted Log Beds, are made out of solid Ontario Canada air dried pine. Average size of corner post on head & foot board are 5" - 7" thick, the rest of the hand-crafted log bed is made to fit with the 5" - 7" corner posts. 2" & 3" tenon and mortise joints, spindles approx size are 4" thick, head and foot board spreaders approx. size are 5" to 6" thick, side rails approx size are 5" to 6" thick, all joints are glued twice with expansion glue, solid spruce 2" x 4" spreaders for the mattress support frame, 4" - 6" heavy duty log lag screws and washers, all drilled holes are counter sunk 1/4", logs are fitted then refitted to the exact size. Then logs are all hand sanded with 60grit then 100grit, then your log bed is ready for finishing, hand finishing is available!
